The Details
Moving Day is a half-hour reality-based TV series. Every episode features A and B stories in which real people experience the pain and stress and joy of moving to a new place.
On Moving Day, the emphasis is on variety. Some of the featured moves are small and local. Others are large and long-distance, even international. We see individuals go through the moving process on their own. And we watch as families experience it as a group, with all the conflict and cooperation that can entail. Some of our subjects are delighted to be moving into a new phase in their lives. Others, not so much.
Every story begins with someone who’s committed to making a move. We learn who they are. What’s important to them. And what’s motivating them to move.
We follow their progress through the planning, the packing and the physical move. Things go well! Or they don’t. The movers are professional, punctual and careful. Or they aren’t. Some of our subjects take it all in stride. For others it’s an emotional roller coaster.
Each story concludes at the new place, where the subjects, surrounded by boxes, reflect on what they’ve been through and look forward into a new day.
Has it all been worth it? Does it end happily? (This to avoid the phrase ‘happy ending’) The conclusions are as varied and unpredictable as the stories themselves.
