In an ancient, dilapidated factory in the centre of town The Old Toyman designs, manufactures and markets his toys throughout the world. These toys allow the child who owns them to get one very special wish. For The Old Toyman to grant a wish, the child must have no other recourse to attain his wish and it must not be born of malice, greed, avarice or envy. Essentially, the child must be, or believe that he or she is, at the crossroads of his or her wits end.
Once the wish is made The Old Toyman, aided by his local distributors, will help make it come true, but the children should be wary of what they wish for because interpretation and method of delivery is up to The Toyman’s discretion. More often than not the child must still work to make the wish come true as The Toyman is only the catalyst.
The Wish Factory is a family drama where, for one half-hour each week, the most sincere and unselfish of children’s dreams come true.
